Subject Description

    This subject aims to equip students with a broad overview of how IT works, how to use it and how it affects the world and our surroundings. Hands-on skills in using Microsoft Word, Excel and Powerpoint are also imparted to introduce data manipulation, analysis and presentation. An understanding of the how IT is being used in business and organizations will also be included to help prepare students for the working world.

Learning Outcomes

  • explain how IT works and apply the concepts learnt
  • demonstrate the ability to create charts and use Pivot tables in MS Excel
  • demonstrate the ability to create headers and footers, format a document, insert tables and charts from MS Excel
  • demonstrate the ability to import materials from MS Word and MS Excel in MS Powerpoint. Create impactful presentations using animation and transitions as well as insert videos
  • analyse for possible solutions that would best address clients' needs eg a business scenario
  • recommend the best possible solution and communicate it to the client via MS Word and MS Powerpoint
