Available to level 4 honours students in the degrees listed above. Except with the approval of the Head of School/Associate Dean, all subjects in a chain must be studied in consecutive teaching periods.

Subject Description

    Candidates may enrol to commence study at the beginning of either Teaching Period 1 or 2. The subject includes: a thesis involving original research work; additional studies in the school; and/or a specialised program of studies.

Learning Outcomes

  • Improved skills in verbal and written communication, data analysis, literature survey and presentation
  • Experience of the processes and procedures required to undertake a successful independent research project in Earth and Environmental Science

Subject Assessment

As this subject is part of a subject chain, a final standard grade (e.g. P, C) will only be recorded for each subject after successful completion of all parts of the subject chain.

  • Written > Thesis/dissertation - (75%) - Individual
  • Other studies - (25%) - Individual
