Subject Description

    Digital disruption has transformed the workplace. This disruption together with the COVID pandemic has created a pivotal moment for the business sector. This subject will identify the key trends in the market today and discuss the workplace response to the challenges of the disruption. Through a series of seminars students will be challenged by the future of work and the changing face of business. Students will learn design thinking and apply creative and innovative solutions to a problem which will culminate in a design sprint.

  • apply design thinking processes to creative business solutions
  • demonstrate innovative problem solving techniques and pitch alternative scenarios
  • work collaboratively in groups to strategize the way forward in a disruptive business environment

Subject Assessment

  • Written > Project report - (50%) - Group & Individual
  • Written > Proposal - (15%) - Group & Individual
  • Project brief and Pitch: including interview outcomes and recommendations. Presented in design thinking terms: empathize, define, ideate and prototype - (35%) - Group

Special Assessment Requirements

Design Sprint - Full day mandatory attendance. New problem presented. Working in groups the issue will be framed in design thinking terms: empathize, define, ideate & prototype
