PY6301 - Clinical Psychology Placement A

Subject Description

This is the first placement subject within the postgraduate clinical psychology curriculum at JCU. In this clinical placement subject, students will participate in class activities designed to enable them to practice the application of clinical knowledge and skills to clinical contexts, prior to undertaking placement. Students will complete a minimum of 1000 hours placement across all placement subjects within the clinical psychology course at JCU. This placement will include at least 400 hours of practice, with ongoing guidance provided by supervisors as students demonstrate application of clinical and professional skills to provide effective, evidenced-based assessment and interventions for clients. Students will participate in feedback processes to develop their ongoing learning plans and self-reflexive practice, and will participate in supervised case consultations.
