Subject Description

    This subject emphasises coastal processes; circulation, river outflow, sediment transport, eddy diffusion and wave mixing. Instrumentation: tide gauges, current meters, conductivity-temperature-depth probes, wave measurement. Surface waves.

  • to apply the basic concepts of fluid mechanics to practical physical oceanography problems

  • a combination of examination, takehome research or coding assignments and oral presentation
