Available to graduates who have achieved a credit average in relevant third year subjects in an undergraduate degree at this University and have shown an ability to apply physical ideas to their discipline. Graduates from other universities with equivalent qualifications will be considered for acceptance. Except with the approval of the Head of School/Associate Dean, all subjects in a chain must be studied in consecutive teaching periods.

Subject Description

    The Honours in Physical Sciences program is intended for students whose undergraduate major is not in Physics, but who have a major in another science (or related) discipline and want to carry out a project where mathematical and physical techniques can be applied to that area. As part of the program, students will need to acquire skills in mathematical and physics that are appropriate to the project. Students eligible to do Physics Honours will be encouraged to take the Physics Honours option.

  • to understand theoretical concepts in a broad range of topics which give background to the research project

Subject Assessment

As this subject is part of a subject chain, a final standard grade (e.g. P, C) will only be recorded for each subject after successful completion of all parts of the subject chain.
