Subject Description

    In this subject, students will explore contemporary theories of knowledge translation and practice development to improve person-centred outcomes. Students will be encouraged to use their own clinical practice experiences to contextualise practice development in their healthcare setting. The role healthcare professionals play in translating knowledge to practice, and methods used to collaborate with key stakeholders to facilitate sustainable practice development, will also be explored.

Learning Outcomes

  • Discuss the key concepts and processes within a practice development methodology
  • Critically reflect on the application of practice development frameworks to facilitate person-centred cultures in healthcare settings
  • Evaluate factors that may influence the evolution and application of knowledge and evidence in practice
  • Formulate a plan for a practice development project to improve person-centred outcomes

Subject Assessment

  • Written > Test/Quiz 1 - (10%) - Individual
  • Written > Project plan - (60%) - Individual
  • Written > Reflection/reflective task 1 - (30%) - Individual

Special Assessment Requirements
