Subject Description

    In the healthcare environment, clinical coaches work to support the professional learning and development for a variety of learners to maximise their potential. In this subject, students will explore contemporary frameworks and strategies that inform the role of a clinical coach.

Learning Outcomes

  • Discuss assessment, feedback and evaluation in relation to clinical coaching
  • Define and discuss the key frameworks and strategies that inform clinical coaching
  • Critically analyse the clinical coaching role within healthcare contexts
  • Reflect on and describe a personal clinical coaching philosophy
  • Examine strategies to facilitate clinical learning and manage challenging coaching situations

Subject Assessment

  • Written > Case study analysis - (30%) - Individual
  • Written > Test/Quiz 1 - Individual
  • Written > Reflection/reflective task 1 - (20%) - Individual
  • Performance/Practice/Product > Portfolio - (50%) - Individual
