Subject Description

    The student will undertake a research project on a topic approved by the Head of School and selected in consultation with their supervisor. The supervisor will normally be a staff member in Mathematics and Statistics.

Learning Outcomes

  • give the student experience at undertaking a research project in an area of mathematics
  • give the student experience in presenting the results of a research investigation in the form of a written thesis

Subject Assessment

  • research proposal, research report and oral presentation. Proposal: 20% Report: 60% Presentation: 20%
