Subject Description

    This subject provides a systematic and thorough introduction to all aspects of risk assessment and quality project management. Special attention is given to risk Management, defining success factors and those factors that contribute to time and cost overruns and potentially to the failure of a project. Students will identify causes of project failure and will recognise how to mitigate risks through proper planning in the early phases of a new project. During this course numerous specific projects across different industries will be analysed for the students to also understand the uniqueness of quality project management and its role in risk mitigation.

Learning Outcomes

  • interpret and Analyse factors for successful Projects, as well as reasons for failure based on specific case studies in the context of effective Risk Management
  • evaluate and mitigate the early triggers of failure in the project life cycle
  • formulate a Quality Management Plan that links customer expectations, project scope, specifications, and success metrics

  • Written > Project report - (40%) - Group
