Subject Description

    The natural environment in the development of economic theory; basic economic concepts relevant to environmental matters including cost-benefit analysis; environmental evaluation techniques and pricing of resources; economic implications of changing environmental practice; the development of global economic interdependence and it's implication for natural environments.

Learning Outcomes

  • synthesise research to critically evaluate, through the adoption of an economics lens, alternate solutions to real world environmental issues
  • recommend and adapt policy solutions for application for local and global environmental challenges

  • Written > Test/Quiz 1 - (10%) - Individual
  • Oral > Presentation 1 - (25%) - Individual
  • Written > Essay (including multi-draft) 1 - (30%) - Individual
