Subject Description

    Engineering Practice subject focuses on giving students a first-hand industry work experience in related engineering disciplines to produce job ready graduates. Students are required to complete online modules (15 hours total) on career development, developed by JCU Careers, before starting their Engineering Practice. Online career modules develop resume writing skills, interview techniques, team work and effective workplace communication skills. In Engineering Practice, students work in engineering projects in industries, under a supervision of a professional engineer for 130 hours, spread over 12 weeks. Students may work in one or more projects and be associated with one or more industries to meet the Engineering Practice requirements. Students are required to reflect their learnings in the ePortfolios; they are also strongly advised to keep weekly journals of work logs. Students are required to submit an internship report and deliver a presentation.
