Subject Description
- This subject is the first of two subjects (the other being CH4003) that in combination constitute the full-year Honours subject in the Discipline of Chemistry. The subject is a combination of a major research project and coursework.
Learning Outcomes
- to allow students to extend their understanding of chemistry by undertaking advanced level short courses in chemistry
- to allow students to develop practical skills in Chemistry by undertaking a major research project in a chemistry research laboratory
Subject Assessment
As this subject is part of a subject chain, a final standard grade (e.g. P, C) will only be recorded for each subject after successful completion of all parts of the subject chain.
- 10% for each of three completed subjects selected with supervisor's approval - (30%) - Individual
- 45%: Thesis. 20%: Supervisor marks on productivity and intellectual ownership. 5%: Oral Presentation - (70%) - Individual
