Subject Description

This subject is linked to the BU3101 Professional Internship capstone offered through the Work Integrated Learning (WIL) Program for Business. The subject is designed to integrate knowledge and skills developed throughout the degree in a practical workplace setting by undertaking an approved industry placement and provides students with the opportunity to extend the number of hours they complete with the one approved placement organisation by enrolling concurrently with BU3101 in any one study period or consecutively over two study periods. Students are required to complete a minimum 150 hours of productive work, in addition to the 100 hours required in BU3101, which aligns with their major. Students cannot self-enrol, but must apply and be granted permission to enrol in the subject. Application deadlines are communicated to eligible students via their JCU email prior to the start of each study period. Students who successfully secure an internship and who do not fulfil the agreed conditions of internship and subsequently fail to deliver for their industry partner are not permitted to re-apply or to re-enrol in BU3101 or BU3104.
