Subject Description

    This subject covers the principles of revenue management in order to maximise the profitability of tourism and hospitality operations. In this subject you will learn how to apply revenue management techniques, such as forecasting and pricing models, overbooking policies and use length-of-stay tools, as well as evaluate the revenue management performance of hotels through industry-specific metrics such as RevPAR, and GOPPAR. The nature of the tourism and hospitality industries will also be discussed, including the requirements to consider a perishable inventory, fixed capacity, and a fluctuating demand and dynamic approach to pricing and capacity allocation across a range of transparent distribution channels.
