Subject Description

    This subject will provide students with the opportunity to experience the various roles of clinical exercise physiologists in work environments. This subject includes compulsory face to face (clinical placement) activities where students observe and work with health professionals, being exposed to and undertaking tasks related to clinical exercise physiology. Students will undertake self-reflection in practice and explore concepts of lifelong learning as allied health professionals, and provide feedback on clinical practice. In this subject students will consolidate all knowledge, skills, and competencies required of a clinical exercise physiologist.

Learning Outcomes

  • demonstrate advanced practice skills in clinical exercise physiology within workplaces, independently designing, implementing, adapting, and evaluating safe and effective clinical exercise physiology services
  • demonstrate knowledge and skills in the appraisal of clinical exercise physiology practice, adhering to principles of honesty, objectivity, and fairness
  • operate as a healthcare professional within healthcare settings, demonstrating skills in effective communication and referring, self- management, and leadership; and abiding by codes of conduct, and ethical, legal, safety, cultural, and privacy responsibilities
  • critically reflect on one's own performance in order to design and plan for ongoing professional and personal development
