SP2010 - Principles of Motor Learning and Motor Control

Subject Description

This subject provides the introduction of describing and analysing skill classification, measurement of motor performance, theories of motor control, motor learning, practice and feedback.

Learning Outcomes

• demonstrate an ability to conduct tests of motor function and to evaluate problems in motor learning and control
• analyse the factors affecting the process of motor skill learning and motor performance
• describe basic principles of theoretical and practical aspects of motor control

Subject Assessment

• Written > Examination (centrally administered) - (50%) - Individual
• Written > Examination - In class - (20%) - Individual
• Participation > Class participation - Individual
• Written > Problem task - (30%) - Individual

Special Assessment Requirements

Passing requirements: achieve a cumulative score of at least 50% after the application of any penalties such as late penalties; participate in at least 80% of scheduled practical classes.
