Subject Description
- This subject will enable each candidate in a doctoral research degree at JCU to acquire the transferable skills required to complete the doctorate in a timely manner and fulfil his or her career aspirations as an internationally-competitive research professional. The Advisory Panel will assist the candidate to develop a skills program tailored to his or her individual needs by undertaking a Need's Assessment early in candidature.

Subject Assessment
- (1)4 days compulsory workshops co-ordinated by the Research Division and delivered in person and online;(2)approx 6 days over 18 months of elective work chosen from (a)workshops and courses mostly offered in blocks twice per year (b) workshops and courses and/or programs eg(cohort programs) offered by Faculty or School; and/or (c)other options considered appropriate by the candidates Advisory Panel (eg courses offered by the Tropical Network of universities; ATN e-grad
