Subject Description

    Professional skills are key in determining career success in most fields. This subject will introduce students to theoretical frameworks and key principles relating to professional skills. Students will apply their knowledge of theory and practice to solve common problems that arise in professional settings. Students will also be encouraged to think critically about their own professional skills and methods for self-improvement. Overall, students will obtain a broad body of knowledge and skills associated with professional practice and professional self-improvement.

Learning Outcomes

  • Demonstrate knowledge and application of contemporary frameworks relevant to professional skills
  • Apply knowledge of professional skills to address common problems that arise in professional settings
  • Reflect critically on the self in terms of professional competencies and attributes

Subject Assessment

  • Oral > Presentation 1 - (30%) - Group
  • Written > Examination (College administered) - (30%) - Individual
  • Written > Proposal - Group
  • Written > Self-reflection task - (40%) - Individual

Special Assessment Requirements
