Available to psychology students who have completed three years of study and who have been accepted into the Graduate Diploma of Psychology. Except with the approval of the Head of Academic Group, all subjects in a chain must be studied in consecutive teaching periods.

Subject Description

    Students are required as a small group to conduct a group project that culminates in a thesis. This subject involves regular meetings with a research supervisor throughout the course of the year; participation in professional orientation and development seminars and the presentation of a paper based on the group's research at an annual mini-conference.

Learning Outcomes

  • communicate a clear, coherent and independent exposition of knowledge and ideas through well- developed written and spoken English language skills
  • exercise critical thinking and judgement in the conduct of scientific investigations to address psychological question
  • use information technologies and appropriate techniques to analyse, interpret, and report research findings and data and generate culturally responsive solutions to problems in psychology as evidenced by conducting a group research project under the supervision of a member of staff

Subject Assessment

As this subject is part of a subject chain, a final standard grade (e.g. P, C) will only be recorded for each subject after successful completion of all parts of the subject chain.

Special Assessment Requirements
