Subject Description

    This is an introduction to geophysical fluid dynamics of oceans and atmospheres with a development into meteorology. Energy balance, fluid motion on a rotating earth, turbulent transport, vorticity and circulation.

  • to understand the basic concept behind fluid flow in oceanography and meteorology

Subject Assessment

  • a combination of examination, takehome research or coding assignments and oral presentation
