Subject Description

    This subject will explore a range of contemporary concepts and methods relevant to healthcare education. Students will be encouraged to reflect on the concept of healthcare education for both healthcare professionals and consumers and consider their role as an educator in contemporary healthcare settings.

Learning Outcomes

  • Evaluate advancements in technology and their influence on healthcare education
  • Analyse contemporary teaching and learning challenges for education in healthcare contexts
  • Critically reflect on healthcare education needs of consumers and recommend contemporary education strategies that meet identified learner needs
  • Evaluate the learning and professional development needs of healthcare professionals working in contemporary contexts

Subject Assessment

  • Written > Test/Quiz 1 - Individual
  • Oral > Presentation 1 - (50%) - Individual
  • Written > Proposal - (40%) - Individual
  • Written > Reflection/reflective task 1 - (10%) - Individual
