Subject Description

    This subject prepares students with the knowledge and skills necessary to manage conflict in a healthcare environment. Students will learn the key theories, styles, strategies and tactics of negotiation, mediation and coaching, as well as theoretical approaches to conflict analysis.

Learning Outcomes

  • Appraise conflict and responses to conflict as they occur in healthcare contexts
  • Develop strategies to respond to conflict in the workplace
  • Using a formal mapping process, distinguish all aspects of specific conflict events and diagnose the causes
  • Formulate an intervention plan for a strategic response to resolve conflict in the workplace

  • Written > Self-reflection task - (20%) - Individual
