Subject Description

    This subject addresses project management from a management perspective. The subject deals with the basic nature of managing projects, the advantages and disadvantages of project management, and covers the problems of selecting projects, initiating them, operating and controlling them. The subject discusses the demands made on project managers and the nature of managers' interaction with stakeholders and the ethical issues faced by project managers. Further, the subject covers the issues associated with planning a project utilising project software tools and terminating a project.

Learning Outcomes

  • analyse and appraise key concepts, processes and procedures of project management
  • develop and implement a project scope through the application of relevant software and project management tools to meet the needs of stakeholders
  • critically examine and evaluate the benefits and limitations of implementing project management theories in business

  • Written > Case study analysis - (40%) - Individual
