Subject Description

    Planning Honours may be completed in areas in which the School of Earth and Environmental Sciences has expertise. The aim of the honours degree is to develop and assess the ability of a student to undertake independent research and consists of a thesis plus other studies designed to meet the needs of the student.

Learning Outcomes

  • Research skills, literature survey skills, thesis preparation skills, analytical skills and presentation skills

Subject Assessment

As this subject is part of a subject chain, a final standard grade (e.g. P, C) will only be recorded for each subject after successful completion of all parts of the subject chain.

  • Oral > Presentation 1 - (10%)
  • Written > Thesis/dissertation - (90%)
