Subject Description

    The law relating to partnerships and companies. This subject is compulsory for students wishing to satisfy professional accreditation requirements in the accounting major.

Learning Outcomes

  • determine the legal obligations of company controllers
  • determine the legal rights and obligations of persons operating partnerships
  • explain the legal requirements relating to the set up and operation of a company
  • explain the methods of terminating a company
  • inform dissatisfied shareholders and other persons dealing with a company of their legal rights and forms of redress
