WS4011 - Honours Reading and Research Design Part 2 of 2

This subject is also available to BSW students or by permission by the Honours Course Coordinator. Except with the approval from the Honours Course Coordinator/Associate Dean, all subjects in a chain must be studied in consecutive teaching periods.

Subject Description

This subject is available to postgraduation BSW students or by permission of the Head of School. The subject provides a broad overview of research methods and guidance in the design of a sound honours level research study. It will be undertaken by the student with the supervisor.

Learning Outcomes

• demonstrate a detailed understanding of the research process
• organise and present a written literature review
• design a research project with an appropriate and relevant methodology and provide design parameters for the proposed research
• develop and present a written research proposal

Subject Assessment

As this subject is part of a subject chain, a final standard grade (e.g. P, C) will only be recorded for each subject after successful completion of all parts of the subject chain.
