Subject Description
- This subject explores the lives, experiences and achievements of Australian women in historical, cultural and contemporary contexts. Interdisciplinary in nature, the subject will draw on insights from a range of disciplines.
Learning Outcomes
- apply appropriate theoretical frameworks and concepts to the analysis of contemporary Australian womens lives
- demonstrate an understanding of the historical and contemporary position of women in Australian society
- discuss and critically evaluate key debates surrounding gender related issues
- distinguish between major theoretical perspectives in womens studies
Subject Assessment
- reflection/reflective task - (30%)
- critical analysis - (40%)
- Non-Invigilated > Essays - (30%)
