Subject Description

    This subject will cover and explore topics relevant to performance in sport and exercise. These topics may include: motivation, arousal, stress and anxiety with sport and exercise performance; sport and exercise behavioural skills training; communication and positive psychology and behavioural determinants of physical activity.

Learning Outcomes

  • identify and implement appropriate behavioural theories, measures and strategies to enhance engagement in sport and exercise settings
  • identify the relationships between exercise, physical activity and sport, and mental health
  • identify the role of psychosocial behaviour within human behaviour

Subject Assessment

  • Invigilated > End of semester exam - (50%)
  • Invigilated > Quizzes or tests - (10%)
  • Non-Invigilated > Assignments - (40%)

Special Assessment Requirements

Students are required to attend and actively participate in at least 80% of all scheduled workshops and achieve an overall mark of 50% to pass the subject.
