Subject Description

    The purpose of this subject is for students to develop professional skills and competencies in preparation for occupational therapy practice education.

Learning Outcomes

  • evaluate and synthesise key information from clinical case scenarios in order to construct clear, concise, professional reports in both written and oral formats
  • examine and apply professional skills, such as teamwork, negotiation and conflict resolution, to an occupational therapy practice context
  • critically reflect on professional and personal behaviours in order to respond effectively to complex practice situations
  • develop and substantiate occupational therapy priorities by deconstructing clinical case scenarios through the application of professional reasoning

Subject Assessment

  • Non-Invigilated > Assignments - (40%)
  • Progress note (pass/fail)
  • Invigilated > End of semester exam - (30%)
  • Invigilated > Presentations - (30%)

Special Assessment Requirements

In order to pass this subject you must: achieve an overall percentage of 50% or more (including after the application of any penalties such as late penalties); complete and submit all assessment materials; attend and participate in at least 80% of workshops; achieve 50% or more on the viva exam.
