Subject Description

    This subject builds on knowledge and skills gained in LA1105/LA2011. Topics covered include discharge of contracts, remedies and vitiating factors.

Learning Outcomes

  • Explain and apply the principles of the Law of Contract in Australia to solve problems and respond to a range of practical scenarios
  • Evaluate and apply the legal principles associated with discharge of contract by performance, agreement, operation of law, breach, frustration and remedies
  • Evaluate and apply the legal principles associated with vitiating factors

Subject Assessment

  • Invigilated > End of semester exam - (50%)
  • Non-Invigilated > Assignments - (50%)

Special Assessment Requirements

Tutorial attendance is mandatory in this subject. A student who fails to attend at least 70% must meet with the Associate Dean of Learning and Teaching and provide evidence as to why he or she should be permitted to sit the final exam or submit the final assessment task.
