Subject Description

    This subject introduces the syllabary writing system of katakana, and continues building elementary level communicative skills in listening, speaking, reading and writing.

Learning Outcomes

  • apply skills necessary to exchange greetings; talk about families, age and occupations; carry out elementary shopping tasks; order meals and drinks; discuss locations; where things are and how they are placed; describe qualities such as big, small, etc.; talk about likes and dislikes; communicate succesfully in reading and writing on the above topics; and recognise tweny five additional <i>kanji</i> characters on top of the twenty learned in JA1001
