Available to students enrolled in the Graduate Certificate, Graduate Diploma and Master of Health Professional Education, Graduate Diploma of Rural and Remote Medicine, Master of Rural and Remote Medicine, Graduate Certificate, Graduate Diploma or Master of Nursing, Graduate Certificate and Graduate Diploma of Rural Generalist Practice or by permission of the Subject or Course Coordinator or Head of School.

Subject Description

    This subject will focus on specific strategies related to clinical teaching for health professionals. The topics include the components of the clinical learning cycle, how learning is facilitated through clinical practice and how reflective practice can be incorporated in clinical learning.

Learning Outcomes

  • Evaluate and critique different clinical teaching strategies and approaches
  • Explain the factors associated with creating successful learning opportunities and outcomes in a clinical context
  • Demonstrate the processes involved in planning, developing, implementing and evaluating different approaches to clinical teaching, identifying personal development needs

  • oral presentation - (30%)
  • online quiz - (10%)
  • Contribution to the Discussion Board - (20%)
  • Written essay - (40%)
