Subject Description
- The subject's focus is on the examination of behaviour management within group contexts. Major theories of behaviour management, proactive versus reactive management and the formulation of classroom and whole-school policies and plans will be studied in detail.
Learning Outcomes
- compare and contrast major theoretical approaches to behaviour management and group processes
- critically evaluate proactive and reactive styles of management
- develop an appreciation of current policies relevant to classroom and whole-school behaviour management issues
- integrate newly acquired knowledge to discuss and evaluate options and issues central to establishing systematic behaviour management at classroom and whole-school levels
Subject Assessment
- Assessment Task 1 - Assignment - (40%)
- Assessment Task 2 - Assignment - (40%)
- Assessment Task 3 - Subject Contribution and Critique - (20%)
