Subject Description

    The subject's focus is on the examination of behaviour management within group contexts. Major theories of behaviour management, proactive versus reactive management and the formulation of classroom and whole-school policies and plans will be studied in detail.

Learning Outcomes

  • compare and contrast major theoretical approaches to behaviour management and group processes
  • critically evaluate proactive and reactive styles of management
  • develop an appreciation of current policies relevant to classroom and whole-school behaviour management issues
  • integrate newly acquired knowledge to discuss and evaluate options and issues central to establishing systematic behaviour management at classroom and whole-school levels

  • Assessment Task 1 - Assignment - (40%)
  • Assessment Task 2 - Assignment - (40%)
  • Assessment Task 3 - Subject Contribution and Critique - (20%)
