Available to students enrolled in the Doctor of Clinical Dentistry course only or by permission of Head of School.

Subject Description

The research component of the professional doctorate will consist of a literature review and clinically oriented research in a specific area of specialist dentistry culminating in a substantial dissertation. The presentation of the Doctor of Clinical Dentistry thesis may follow a similar style to the PhD thesis, however published work may also contribute partly or wholly to this dissertation.

Learning Outcomes

• Conduct substantial advanced research in the student's area of specialisation and present the outcomes as a dissertation to the acceptable standard

Subject Assessment

As this subject is part of a subject chain, a final standard grade (e.g. P, C) will only be recorded for each subject after successful completion of all parts of the subject chain.

• Invigilated > Thesis - (35%)
• Non-Invigilated > Assignments - (30%)
• Research project - (35%)
