Subject Description

    This subject is an introduction to Web design and development using modern, standards-driven practices and user-centred design principles. Students will explore how the Web works, considering both good and bad design and the need for following standards and best practices. Students will learn to use client-side technologies including HTML, CSS and JavaScript to develop interactive websites.

Learning Outcomes

Subject Assessment

  • Assignment 1 - (30%)
  • Assignment 2 - (40%)
  • Practicals - (30%)

Special Assessment Requirements

Practical attendance is mandatory in this subject. A student who fails to attend and demonstrate their attempt to at least 70% of practical, must meet with the Associate Dean of Learning and Teaching and provide evidence as to why they should be permitted to sit the final exam or submit the final assessment task.
