CH4007 - Chemistry Honours (Part Time) Part 4 of 4

Except with the approval of the Head of the School of Pharmacy and Molecular Sciences, all subjects in a chain must be studied in consecutive teaching periods.

Subject Description

This subject is the fourth of four subjects (the others being CH4004, CH4005, and CH4006) that in combination constitute the part-time subjects required to complete Honours part-time in the Discipline of Chemistry. The subject is a combination of a major research project and a selection of readings/seminars designed to complement the subject matter of the research project.

Learning Outcomes

• to allow students to extend their understanding of chemistry by undertaking advanced level short courses in chemistry
• to allow students to develop practical skills in Chemistry by undertaking a major research project in a chemistry research laboratory

Subject Assessment

As this subject is part of a subject chain, a final standard grade (e.g. P, C) will only be recorded for each subject after successful completion of all parts of the subject chain.

• Invigilated > Thesis - (60%)
• Combination of Seminars, invigilated examinations and uninvigilated assignments - (40%)

Assumed Knowledge:  12 credit points of level 3 CH subjects at Credit level or higher

Inadmissible Subject Combinations:  CH4001 and CH4002 and CH4003
