Subject Description

    In this subject, students investigate and evaluate the configuration of accounting systems and their relationship on business transaction processing in organisations. Contemporary changes in technology, including cloud based and artificial intelligence are examined for their impact on accounting information systems. Business simulations are used to enhance the understanding of important relationships in accounting information systems. This subject is compulsory for students wishing to satisfy professional accreditation requirements in the Bachelor of Commerce, Accounting major.

Learning Outcomes

  • investigate and evaluate the operation and configuration of accounting systems in business and not for profit organisations
  • analyse the impact of cloud based accounting and artificial intelligence processes on accounting information systems
  • work collaboratively to apply critical thinking and problem solving strategies for the design of accounting information systems

Subject Assessment

  • Invigilated > End of semester exam - (65%)
  • Non-Invigilated > Assignments - (25%)
  • Quiz - (10%)
