This subject explores the lives, experiences and achievements of Australian women in historical, cultural and contemporary contexts. Interdisciplinary in nature, the subject will draw on insights from a range of disciplines.
Learning Outcomes
- apply appropriate theoretical frameworks and concepts to the analysis of contemporary Australian womens lives;
- demonstrate an understanding of the historical and contemporary position of women in Australian society;
- discuss and critically evaluate key debates surrounding gender related issues;
- distinguish between major theoretical perspectives in womens studies.
Assumed Knowledge: | To undertake this subject, students must have successfully completed 12 credit points (four subjects) of level 1 study at tertiary level |
