This is a core subject for students enrolled in the Master of Social Science and Master of Social Work degree. This subject is aimed at assisting postgraduate students to gain an understanding of an advanced, integrated body of knowledge regarding research in the Social Sciences, including ethics, theories, research principles and methods. Students will have the opportunity to investigate topics, worldviews, methodologies, methods and processes for social science research and demonstrate their proficiency in designing, planning and executing a substantial social science research project. The subject will focus on qualitative methods, with content on quantitative methodologies, mixed method design and discipline specific research designs.
