Available to participants with eligibility for health professional registration in Queensland and other postgraduate students at the discretion of the Head of Occupational Therapy. The residential will be delivered at JCU Townsville.
This module will enable qualified occupational therapists to further their knowledge in functional anatomy related to soft tissue injuries. Students will be able to update their knowledge and skills in anatomy before undertaking the soft tissue module. The course is conducted via a combination of distance mode and a practical block component. Students will also work on a research project of their choice throughout the semester.
Learning Outcomes
- on completion of this subject, students will be able to demonstrate an ability to analyse various movement patterns on the basis of musculoskeletal involvement and related mechanical principles;
- on completion of this subject, students will be able to demonstrate an ability to analyse injury mechanics associated with particular types of tissue.
Prerequisites: | Entry level qualification to postgraduate student's respective allied health profession ie Bachelor of Occupational Therapy |
