The Work Integrated Learning - Industry Internship (WIL) subject provides selected students the opportunity to work as a voluntary intern within a Creative Arts & Media organisation. Each student is supervised by a JCU Industry Host and designated Academic Supervisor. The internship is conducted over a total of 100 hours within a single study period and may be taken as an elective subject for students enrolled in the Bachelor of Creative Arts & Media degree. A range of host organisations are available for student placements covering various creative arts and media disciplines.
Learning Outcomes
- demonstrate critical thinking and exercise independent judgment in problem solving within the creative arts and media industry;
- apply a high level of theoretical and technical skills within an area of practice relevant to the Creative Arts and Media discipline;
- demonstrate ability to work collaboratively to communicate, conceptualise and analyse creative objectives and innovations;
- apply knowledge of WH&S through safe work practices within a Creative Arts and Media work environment.
Prerequisites: | A minimum of 30 credit points in 114510 as a pre-requisite before commencing subject. Students can only enrol after consultation with academic staff and enrolment officers |
