This module has been developed specifically for allied health professionals in the following professions; Dietetics, Occupational Therapy, Pharmacy, Physiotherapy, Podiatry and Speech Pathology.

This module provides participants with the opportunity to gain a solid understanding of health service provision for older persons living in rural and remote communities. Participants will be guided through the process of assessment and intervention planning for an older person within the context of their own practice. Inter-professional implications for rural and remote service delivery will be explored.

Learning Outcomes

Prerequisites:Participants are responsible for ensuring they are practicing in accordance with the regulatory instruments of their specific allied health profession, within their own personal scope of practice and experience level and in accordance with the policies of their employer. This module requires access to a patient or consumer being an older person, ageing in place, so as to demonstrate achievement of module outcomes in the appropriate clinical context.
