The emergence of non-silicon based electronics is transforming the conventional silicon based electronic technologies that will lead to light-weight, low powered devices such as flexible displays, and low-cost photovoltaic systems. This subject will give an overview of emerging technologies in the field of electronics and sensors, and will cover topics including materials design and synthesis, materials characterisation, and device applications. The main highlights of the subjects will be organic semiconducting materials, graphene and organic photovoltaic devices.
