The knowledge provided by this subject includes: Fundamentals of power engineering; Single phase and three phase power system modelling and analysis; Construction, modeling and performance analysis of rotating electric machines (direct current and alternating current), as well as induction motors; Steady state characteristics of synchronous machines; Transmission lines parameters, transmission modelling and performance analysis; Introduction to power flow analysis, bus admittance matrix, and use of numerical method for power flow analysis; Introduction to stability analysis of power systems; Power quality and control of power system; Symmetrical components and their networks; Fault analysis (single line to ground, line to line, double line to ground).
