This subject studies principles and methods for implementing Religious Education in classrooms. Students will gain an understanding of the nature, historical development and purposes of Religious Education through an analysis of relevant church documents. Students will identify, examine and critique a variety of approaches to Religious Education by exploring and analysing curriculum approaches and resource materials of selected Australian Catholic schooling systems. Students will examine, critique, develop and evaluate plans for effective teaching and learning strategies in the Religious Education classroom. This will include assessment, reporting and evaluation processes used in Religious Education. Students will participate in learning opportunities for demonstrating and applying Religious Education methods.
