The subject's focus is on the examination of behaviour management within group contexts. Major theories of behaviour management, proactive versus reactive management and the formulation of classroom and whole-school policies and plans will be studied in detail.
Learning Outcomes
- compare and contrast major theoretical approaches to behaviour management and group processes;
- critically evaluate proactive and reactive styles of management;
- develop an appreciation of current policies relevant to classroom and whole-school behaviour management issues;
- integrate newly acquired knowledge to discuss and evaluate options and issues central to establishing systematic behaviour management at classroom and whole-school levels.
