In this subject you will learn about social and educational research ethics, and the design and writing of research methodology. This subject follows on from ED5092 where students undertake the design and development of a proposal for a small-scale research project. In this subject you will explore contemporary educational and social research ethics and, as relevant, prepare a JCU ethics application for your proposed small-scale research project. This subject enables you to engage further with contemporary professional practice, and aligns with the school improvement agenda. It is your choice whether you take ED5098:03 as an additional, stand-alone research subject in the Master of Education, or as part of the Coursework by Research (Major) Minor Thesis / Coursework with Research Project.
Learning Outcomes
- Students who successfully complete this subject will: 1. demonstrate and apply advanced knowledge of contemporary research ethics;
- 2. have the capacity to frame a topic, issue or questions for quality small scale research;
- 3. apply advanced cognitive, technical and communication skills to develop a chosen research methodology and be able to write clearly and with capability to generate and transmit their research.
