This will be a core subject in the new Graduate Diploma of Orthodontics course.
This subject comprises a series of lectures and tutorials on fundamental orthodontic theory and clinical practice. The topics in this subject include complex problems that can occur during orthodontic practice. Recognition, precautions and the need to refer to an Orthodontist specialist when appropriate are discussed. Students are required to finish at least five cases, debond and establish a proper protocol of retention. Each student should present completed case notes and all records. They are also required to learn the protocols of case treatment summary and case records archiving.
Learning Outcomes
- discuss the multidisciplinary management of Obstructive Sleep Apnea (OSA) in children and in adults;
- outline the protocols of case treatment summary and case record archiving;
- critically analyse orthodontic finished cases.
