Client Relationships introduces students to the knowledge required to build ethical and professional client relationships. This subject will also embody the theoretical and practical underpinnings of ethical and professional requirements in the financial services sector. Students will develop skills in building trust; communication of advice; and strategies for engaging clients in the financial planning and advising process, by focusing on the consideration of clients' needs in order to formulate strategies and solutions to meet their financial circumstances.
Learning Outcomes
- apply client engagement psychology for effective client communication in financial services contexts;
- evaluate individual and inter-personal behavioural patterns in an organisational context, to support positive relations with clients and peers;
- critically analyse financial scenarios and apply investment management knowledge to evaluate client contexts and problems;
- analyse complex situations that may lead to conflicts of interest in client-financial adviser relationships and discuss the systemic consequences of ethical decision making and propose appropriate action;
- apply critical self-reflection skills that describe your accountability and responsibility for ethical professional practices in the financial services context.
